Antarctica Day 6 - December 3 - Waterboat Point, Antarctic Continent

I wake up to fog and snow. It's two degrees and overcast but we're making a landing on the Antarctic continent this morning.

We weave our way through icebergs to land at Waterpoint Point on Paradise Bay, the area where two young Belgians lived and studied penguins for two years after their expedition team left. It's hard to imagine being able to survive in the cold (it's not actually that bad) and without food, apart from the penguins obviously.

As the beach is tiny, half of us go 'cruising' in zodiacs among the icebergs and the rest land on the beach. While cruising among weird and wonderfully-carved icebergs we spot a crab-eater seal on an iceberg.
