San Francisco

As my camera is looking slightly dusty again I take it to a reputable camera shop that has had good customer reviews on the web. The normal time needed for cleaning is one week. I persuade the technician to do it overnight but as I leave the shop I have a strange feeling of anxiety. I realise I haven't spent a night without my camera before. This worries me - both the being without my camera and the realisation that worrying about this is sad in itself.

Walking back to the hotel I'm lured into another camera shop by the offer of a cheap lens. The man behind the counter is helpful and tells me about the pros and cons of each lens. He looks like a cross between Gunther from Friends and Uncle Fester and giggles nervously. This make me uncomfortable. The conversation takes a downward turn after he says 'Where are you from? I find you very attractive'.
Oh no. He tells me he's nearly 50 but takes care of himself.
'What are you doing tonight?' he asks.
Thinking quickly I say that I need to go to the airport to change my ticket.
'I'll give you a lift if you like' he replies.
I politely decline but as I leave he gives me his card and says if I'd like to go out to give him a call.
