Mini Palms Gorge, Bungle Bungles, Australia

There are only a handful of walks you can do in the Bungle Bungles and we are going to do all of them in one day. That's about 10 kilometres. Over rough ground. In the baking sun.

The first of these is Mini Palms Gorge, a two-hour return walk through a dry stony river bed into the gorge, filled with towering palms. In the rainy season the park closes for three months of the year (December-February) as the rivers flood the area.

I can't keep track of all the gum trees we pass. There are ghost gums, river gums, red river gums, snappy gums among others. Our guide is rather vague on them too which makes me think he has no idea which is which.
