Back in Cairns I pop into Peter Lik's landscape photography gallery. His photos are the ones I wish I could take. I'm particularly mesmerised by one particular photo called Angels Heart, an intoxicating swirl of pink and orange, and enquire how much a large print would be. Four thousand Australian Dollars. I've been invited to dinner by my Advanced Diving buddy Angie and her boyfriend. Angie is a nurse from Canada but lives and works in Cairns. As I sit on their huge candlelit outdoor porch overlooking their equally large floodlit swimming pool I feel a little homesick.
