Mérida, Mexico

From Chichén Itzá it's a two-hour bus ride to Mérida, the White City. My ear has been hurting for the past few days and I can't ignore it any longer. The doctor says I have Swimmer's Ear or Otitis externa, an infection normally caused by spending too much time in water. I'm banned from swimming and diving for a while and put on a course of antibiotics.

In Mérida I walk down to the leafy main square or 'zocalo' as they call it in Mexico and take some photos of the impressive twin-towered 16th century cathedral. Walking around the city I struggle to find many interesting subjects to photograph.
