The Lake Outlet track follows the Clutha River down a flattish gravel track to Lake Wanaka. There's beautiful scenery all the way passing autumnal-coloured trees, snow-capped mountains, red winter berries and different shades of turquoise water. Apart from a couple of dog walkers and cyclists I have the whole place to myself.
There are so many photo opportunities I dilly-dally along and realise it's taken me an hour and a half to walk the 50-minute track.
