Before I leave for Queenstown I decide to take a walk along the western shore of the lake to Waterfall Creek. It's bright and sunny revealing Wanaka in new colours. The mountain snow reflects a brilliant white, the bare trees look golden in the sunlight and the lake is a deep sapphire blue.
