Lost World, Waitomo, New Zealand



Entering the wet, muddy, slippery cave I'm continuously attaching and unattaching myself to safety lines as I climb through the cave system. I find myself negotiating unfriendly rocks and inching my way along slippery narrow ledges.

After half an hour we're told to switch off our headlamps. Like waves of blue-green stars suspended from the ceiling, glow worms magically light up the cave.
