Pohutu geyser, Te Puia Thermal Valley, Rotorua, New Zealand

The star attraction is the 'Pohutu' geyser, which means 'big splash' or 'explosion'. It erupts twice an hour and there are ring seats for the occasion. I hang around for 20 minutes until it starts steaming but it's another ten before it erupts fully.

I can't stand the pain from my tooth any longer so I'm forced to go back to the doctors. 'Grossly inflamed' she notes on her report and puts me on a week's worth of antibiotics.
